The Katz-Moses Woodworkers With Disabilities Fund

We provide tools, equipment, and resources free of charge to woodworkers, crafters and makers with disabilities around the world, because a love of making should come easily.

Woodworkers with disabilities are some of the most passionate, resilient makers in the world, and our goal is to provide tools, support, and the community they deserve.

KMWDF exists to close that gap in the most direct way we know how: by giving. Tools, equipment, and supplies go to our grant recipients completely free of charge, because we believe access to the craft is something you earn through passion, not through what you can afford.

Alongside our giving programs, we match makers with skilled volunteer mentors across the country, support adaptive workspace modifications, and work hand in hand with manufacturers, retailers, and advocacy organizations who share our vision.

We've built a reputation by keeping our mission simple and following through on every commitment we make, and we're just getting started on what this community can become together.

KMWDF Founder & Namesake

Jonathan Katz-Moses is a father, woodworker, educator, tool designer, and one of the most recognized voices in the modern making community. Through his widely followed YouTube channel and social media platforms, he has spent years bringing the craft of woodworking to audiences around the world with a teaching style that is as accessible as it is inspiring.

As the founder of KMTools, he has translated that same philosophy into the tools themselves, designing products built around the idea that great craftsmanship should be within reach for anyone willing to pursue it.

But for Jonathan, reach has always meant something more than audience size or product lines. It means making sure that the woodworking world, the community he has dedicated his life to building, genuinely has room for everyone in it. KMWDF is the fullest expression of that commitment. It is the place where his platform, his resources, his industry relationships, and his personal history all come together in service of the makers who need them most.

Where The Money Goes

Since our founding in 2020, KMWDF has distributed nearly $500,000 in tools, equipment, and resources across approximately 250 grants to woodworkers with disabilities across the country. Every dollar donated to KMWDF is directed toward fulfilling our mission, and we are committed to maintaining the lean, efficient operations that make that possible.
